Day 3 | Learn As Much As You Can

“Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to all” - 1 Timothy 4:15

Your degree of transformation is dependent on how much knowledge you know. The more you know, the better you can change anything. Remember: knowledge is power. No real change could come from ignorance. Don’t stay ignorant. Change doesn’t come by wishful thinking, or by merely dreaming about it. You must obtain knowledge. And the more specific and thorough you know about a subject or a discipline, then, the more successful you will be in developing yourself.

But next to knowledge, you must also possess wisdom. Wisdom is that uncommon ability to use knowledge in the most appropriate manner. If knowledge is about acquisition of facts and information; wisdom, on the other hand, is application of that knowledge judiciously and prudently. For instance, if you are a gun owner, you must know how a gun works, but better yet, you must also know when to use it. Knowledge and wisdom go together like a hand and a glove.

So grow both in knowledge and wisdom. You can do so by asking godly counsel from seasoned and godly men or leaders (1 Corinthians 12:31). Or, by picking up a good book and immersing yourself in disciplined reading (Revelation 1:3). You can also, acquire nuggets of wisdom from recognized authorities as they talk about their experiences (Isaiah 55:2-3). Another way to gain wisdom is to bring yourself under a good mentor who could act as your life coach (2 Timothy 3:14). Do these and you will succeed in no time.
