Meditations for a Meaningful Christmas

By Bishop Jonathan S. Ferriol

December 31  |  Prepare for Action

“Therefore prepare your minds for action, and being sober minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” - 1 Peter 1:13

The true Christian faith is not dormant nor it is lethargic or laid back. It is active and it is constantly on the move. True followers of Jesus in His true church do not sit around in their recliners of comfortable Christianity and apostate spirituality; wishing their faith is not that as hard as it is portrayed in the Scriptures by Jesus. Instead, true believers and followers of Jesus are soldiers in the front lines. Although bloodied yet unbowed before the onslaught of the army of darkness. They are builders who labor day and night, dying yet living, as they rejoice seeing the kingdom of God rising up amidst today’s landscape of spiritual dryness.

God himself is a God of action. From the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, God has been shown to be the God in action! In the first book of the Bible, He was presented as the Creator and at the close of the canon of the Scriptures, In Revelation, God was hailed as one “who makes everything new!” (Revelation 21:5). This is a compelling proof that “God…works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13).

The Son of God himself is constantly in action. Today, He is building His church through His gifts so that the like a bride to her groom, the church will be presented as “radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless” (Ephesians 5:27). Even now at this moment, Jesus is in heaven, “preparing a place for us” (John 14:2). As Christ’s “workmanship” the true church then must be equally action oriented! That is how we can give justice and honor to our divine calling (Ephesians 2:10).

Our beloved apostle and the Goodman of the House, brother Arsenio T. Ferriol, following the example of his predecessors in the first century Christian era, is quite a laborer himself. He is constantly on the move, preaching the true gospel, exhorting the brethren with the 4th watch message and administering faithfully his trust as the forerunner of the Lord’s second coming. It is a fact that our beloved apostle is a tireless proclaimer of God’s words; teaching churches each day with passion and urgency. From supervising the church’s globally expanding ministry to ministering prayer and counsel to the saints, Apostle Arsenio T. Ferriol is, indeed, a man of action. We must emulate him.

Let this coming 2018 be a year of action for you! Get out of your spiritual doldrums. Dress yourself up once again with the garment of servitude that you once proudly wore. You have nursed your wounds long enough. You are now strong and healed. Go and run to the battle front and join the rest of the faithful fighting the good fight of faith! Don’t vacillate any longer. Move and act on your faith! Redeem the time and reinvest your life in God’s work! Act now!
